The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra provides the best of metro-Atlanta’s young instrumentalists an opportunity to perform orchestral masterworks. Selected by audition, members meet weekly for group coaching and rehearsals.
- 120 members strong, the ASYO draws high-school-age players from throughout Atlanta
and northern Georgia
- The ASYO gives three concerts a year on its own series, performs concerts on ASO
series, and performs at other opportunities throughout the year.
- Music Director Jere Flint has conducted the ASYO since 1979. More about Jere Flint
- Coaching at ASYO sectional rehearsals is provided by ASO musicians
- Small ensembles from the ASYO also perform chamber music at community functions
- The ASYO is operated as a division of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
