Heidi Nitchie has been a violist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 1972. She graduated from the University of Michigan and attended the Manhattan and Julliard Schools of Music. Her primary teachers were Francis Bundra, Lilian Fuchs, and Walter Trampler. She has had training at such summer festivals as Interlochen, Aspen, and Tanglewood. She has performed locally with several chamber music groups including the Atlanta Virtuosi. Her husband Carl is Principal Bassoonist of the ASO.
